Design a Hat that is timeless and with modernity. The look and feel should marry in with the look and feel of the Santa and Cole brand or Mobilia’s current brand offering. (visit www.mobilia.com.au)
Pieces are to be unique and individual. Any materials or finishes can be used.
Samples of Heads will be made available by Mobilia at their Claremont showroom or by request; to allow measurements to be taken and to assist with prototyping.

The winner will have the unique opportunity to travel to Barcelona to meet the co-founders of the Santa and Cole brand and take a personalised tour of Santa & Cole’s beautiful 130 hectare estate “Parc Belloch" located in La Roca, 30km north of Barcelona.
Winners product will be prototyped and exhibited by Mobilia and will be the next designer to be supported, manufactured and marketed under license by Joey.
The winner will receive a 5% commission on future sales of their lighting design should it go into production under the Joey brand.
THE ENTRY CRITERIA
The competition is open to West Australian residents who have a career or who are studying in the design industry or design related career. Careers can include (but are not limited to) :
Architects, Interior Designers, Product Designers, Fashion Designers, Graphic Designers, Design Students

Entry costs are $5.00 per entrant and 100% of the entry cost will be donated to a local charity organisation.
Entry costs are payable when handing your entry into the showroom before 2nd November (see rules below).
Members of the Design Institute of Australia (WA Chapter), Architects Institute of Australia (WA Chapter) or any students studying design in Western Australia will be able to enter free of charge and Mobilia will donate $5.00 to a local charity for every entrant from one of these organisations.
THE WINNING CRITERIA
The winning entrant will be judged on:
- Alignment with existing Mobilia brands and collections - Quality of original prototypes
- Environmental consideration

HOW TO ENTER
Entrants will need to register (see below) and payment will be due when handing in entry.
Entrants will be required to submit the following:
1 x Prototype of their proposed HAT
1 x Document explaining the story and inspiration of their design (no more than 500 words).
All entrants must be registered prior to Oct 23rd and hand in their prototypes and accompanying documentation to the Mobilia Showroom (Unit 1, 248 Stirling Hwy Claremont) by no later than the 2nd November 2015.
THE JUDGING PROCESS & DATES
20th August 2015 - Competition Starts
23rd October 2015 - Last Day for Registration
2nd November 2015 - Deadline for Hats to be finalised and handed in to Mobilia Showroom. (Unit 1, 248 Stirling Hwy Claremont)
1st December 2015 - The Santa and Cole / Head Hat Presentation at The State Theatre as part of Nina Masó Workshop.
3rd December 2015 - D.I.A Awards at the State Theatre where winner will be announced by Santa and Cole Co Founder
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Competition commences on 02.08.2015 and closes 02.11.2015.
The Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Major Prize is a single prize irrespective of the number of or team that worked on submitting the entry. Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
Flight to Barcelona must be used within 12 months from the date that the competition is won, and date will be set in accordance with availability of Santa and Cole team.
Mobilia accepts no responsibility for late entries, entries not received for any reason (including postage or technical problems) or out-dated or incorrect contact details or contact details by which the entrant cannot be contacted on the relevant dates. Mobilia reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if Mobilia determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner will be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by Mobilia in its absolute discretion. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, Mobilia reserves the right to cancel, vary or postpone the competition and/or disqualify any individual at any time.
No responsibility will be taken by Mobilia for any changes in dates or times or other arrangements that may prevent the winners from winning any of the prizes.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by Mobilia then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
Mobilia reserves the right to manufacture and market more than one entry. All entries remain the property of S&M Mobilia Showroom Pty Ltd, trading as Mobilia unless otherwise stated.
The winner will receive a 5% designer commission on future sales of their lighting product should it go into production under the Joey brand.
Please note meetings with Nina Maso from Santa And Cole will be subject to availability at time of travel.
